We also ran three online workshops.  Click here for all the details.

We usually have a raffle in aid of Cornwall Mind who do wonderful work with people with mental health problems.  As part of 3 Bags Full online we raised over £300.

Alpaca Yarns

Suri are the 'rare breed' of the alpaca world with different fleece and fibre characteristics to the more common huacaya alpaca. Alpaca Yarns have fine suri alpaca fleece for spinning, natural British suri alpaca yarns for knitting, crochet & weaving in balls and on cones. The yarn is spun in a UK mill specialising in suri and in a worsted process. Also some great knitting and crochet kits to make stylish accessories & exquisite handcrafted items.

An harber

British Wool Blankets crafted in Cornwall

An Harber is a recent collaboration between Nicky and Sue.   The name is Cornish and it means The Haven (or place of refuge) and this is exactly what our farm based Wool Shed has become post lockdown.

We lovingly design and craft beautiful felted wool blankets from British wool, then we go out to iconic Cornish Heritage sites to take photographs.

Sharing our understanding and passion for this sustainable, eco friendly resource, we are developing techniques to create a truly unique product.

Gullrock Fibres

Gullrock Fibres is a Devon based one-woman company selling plant dyed yarn and fibre. I love to roam around my city and surrounding moors and coastline collecting dye plants, both known and experimental, to infuse meaningful colours and memories into the fibres. It is important to me that the fibres are non-superwash and nylon-free so you will find mainly British sheep breed blends in the shop, spun either in Cornwall, Devon or Yorkshire. I also use dried plant stuffs e.g. madder root and flowers as well as occasional additions of responsibly sourced extracts. As well as a love of fibre and a rapidly burgeoning knowledge and interest in the cycles of nature, I am passionate about the fibre community both locally and internationally. Our crafts bring us such joy and peace of mind in a changing world and I have been thrilled to meet skilled and enthusiastic practitioners at Guilds, in my city and on-line. We are all missing the festivals but I hope to see some of you virtually at 3BF!

Shawl and scarf pins:  Ideal for fastening a woolly wrap or pinning a crocheted scarf in place, and suitable for any garment with a loose knit or weave, my shawl pins can also be worn as a piece of contemporary jewellery. Ideal as an unusual present on their own, or for complementing a knitted gift for someone you love.  Each one is built and finished by hand and, with a variety of different patterns and colours to choose from, I hope you’ll find one you like.

To buy the shawl pins click here.

Shawl and scarf pin workshop:  Polymer clay is the ideal material with which to make a decorative pin as it’s lightweight and won't pull the garment out of shape. In addition to being able to blend colours, you can also mould, shape and texture it to produce fabulous design details.  A shawl pin makes a great embellishment on a chunky knit and a unique decoration for a knitted hat or scarf. Come and make two on this in-person one-day course, in West Country Creative’s garden studio located on the Devon/Cornwall border.  For course details and dates, which include 17 October, click here.
